The Plastic Takeover

We are producing over 300 million tons of plastic every year, 50% of which is for single-use purposes – utilized for just a few moments, but on the planet for at least several hundred years. More than 8 million tons of plastic is dumped into our oceans every year.

Fish, seabirds, sea turtles, and marine mammals can become entangled in or ingest plastic debris, causing suffocation, starvation, and drowning.

It can take up to 1000 years for a plastic bottle to degrade. However, plastic bottles do not biodegrade, so they will remain in our environment forever.
When water gets extracted to be sold as bottled water, many natural water supplies dry up.It can take up to 1000 years for a plastic bottle to degrade. However, plastic bottles do not biodegrade, so they will remain in our environment forever.

Plastic bags tend to disrupt the environment in a serious way. They get into soil and slowly release toxic chemicals.

It can take hundreds or even thousands of years for plastic to break down, so the damage to the environment is long-lasting.

When plastic bags are thrown on land it makes soil less fertile.

Toxins in plastics are directly linked to cancers, birth defects, immune system problems, and childhood developmental issues.

This is an awareness campaign highlighting the threat to our environment from the use of Plastic.
