The haveli is situated in the Chabuk Sawaran neighborhood in the old city of Lahore, close to the famous Lahore Fort. This location was of great strategic importance due to its proximity to the power center, the Fort.
Architecture and Structure
Haveli Barood Khana is an exemplary blend of Mughal and Sikh architecture, featuring intricately carved wooden balconies, jharokhas (overhanging enclosed balconies), and a large courtyard. Built for both residential and defensive purposes, it served dual functions, being used both for storing military supplies and as living quarters.
